Has your child recently had an anaphylactic reaction for which they were seen at Children’s Hospital, in Winnipeg?
Anaphylaxis is the most severe type of allergic reaction affecting up to 1.6% people in North America. The number of yearly emergency department visits for anaphylaxis in Canadian children is increasing. Yet, little is known about anaphylaxis management at home, daycares, schools and other settings.
A team of researchers and physicians are now working to understand anaphylaxis management. This study is called C-CARE, the Cross-Canada Anaphylaxis Register. Led by a team at McGill University, in Montreal, Québec, Manitoba is now a partner in C-CARE, along with other provinces.
