Pediatric Food Allergy in Schools:
Learning with children and school staff to share knowledge

Pediatric Food Allergy in Schools:
Learning with children and school staff to share knowledge

Approximately 6-8% of school-aged children have food allergy, a condition that requires dietary avoidance to prevent an allergic reaction.

Children who have food allergy must avoid the food(s) to which they are allergic, and be prepared at all times to manage an allergic reaction.

We recently noted that Manitoba teachers and students want more information about food allergy. These videos are a result of what students told us what they wanted to know.

Through these food allergy educational videos, we hope to address the current knowledge gaps and address what students told us they want to know more about.

This research study was developed by food allergy researchers and educators, who have developed food allergy educational videos for use in Manitoba schools.
This work was supported by a University Collaborative Research grant from the University of Manitoba.
