Michael Golding, MA
Research Coordinator, Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba I hold a master’s degree in experimental psychology from the University of New Brunswick. In graduate school I received training in both the psychological bases of behaviour and research methods, which prepared me well for my work in the lab. Since joining the lab in 2019, I have leveraged my training to provide assistance with the practical aspects of our various research projects as well as sharing the results of our research through papers and conference presentations. Currently, I am working on several different research projects that focus on the financial and psychological impacts of allergic disease. When I'm not at work, I like to canoe, listen to music, and spend time with my partner, Katie, and our two dogs, Digby and Lucy. |

Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending my spare time at the lake reading, relaxing in the sun and spending time with friends and family. Research Assistant, University of Manitoba I am a Master of Applied Human Nutrition student at the University of Manitoba. I returned to university during the COVID-19 pandemic after directing a mom & child support program in my community for over a decade. I have a passion for giving people practical tools to help improve their quality of life, especially families and parents. I was accepted as a research assistant at the Protudjer Lab in the fall of 2022 to help with their NOURISH project, looking at the psychosocial impacts of food allergies for families. Since April 2023, I have been working on a caregiver-to-caregiver mentorship project alongside the SSCY Centre in Winnipeg. Outside of school, internship, and work, I manage a busy household of 4 kids ages 10-18, serve as a volunteer board member at the Steinbach Family Resource Center, and enjoy running and staying active. |
