Isabel Skypala, PhD, RD
Dr. Isabel Skypala is a consultant allergy dietitian and clinical lead for food allergy in the asthma and allergy group. She is also an honorary teaching fellow at Imperial College London, and honorary research dietitian at Guy's Hospital in London.

Dr. Skypala's expertise includes: 
  • Diagnosing and managing adult food allergy. As an international expert, she has extensive knowledge of allergy testing, including specialist molecular allergy tests and oral food challenge. 
  • Real, authoritative knowledge about food intolerance, including the types of conditions involved and how to diagnose a food intolerance.
  • In-depth knowledge of nutrition and the dietary management of both food allergy and intolerance.

Learning Objectives:
  1. To define, and describe the epidemiology of pollen food allergy syndrome
  2. To characterize cross-reacting foods and pollens
  3. To articulate at least three dietary restrictions associated with pollen food allergy syndrome​

Elissa Abrams, MD, MPH, FRCPC
Dr. Abrams is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Manitoba. She holds adjunct appointments at the University of British Columbia and the University of Colorado Denver. She is the President of the Allergy Section of the Canadian Paediatric Society and Chair of the Food Allergy/Anaphylaxis Section of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Her research interests include risk communication, public health, and resource stewardship. She has published over 150 articles.

Leslie Roos, PhD
Dr. Leslie Roos is a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba, with appointments in Psychology and Pediatrics and Child Health.
Her program of research aims to prevent the intergenerational transmission of stress-linked health inequities by developing scalable programs to promote family mental health and supportive relationships.
Dr. Roos completed her clinical residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto and received her PhD from the University of Oregon. She chairs the Academic Advisory Board at Until the Last Child charitable organization and is a Junior Fellow at the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard.

Tasmia Hai, PhD
Dr. Hai is an incoming post-doctoral fellow at the University of Manitoba and the Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba.
She will be joining the Hearts and Minds Lab, working with Dr. Leslie Roos to investigate the impact of an e-mental health app on improving child mental health by supporting mothers. Tasmia is currently completing her graduate degree in school and clinical psychology at the University of Alberta.
