Our team at the Protudjer Lab has developed food allergy resources for parents and caregivers managing a pediatric food allergy as well as resources for health care providers. Before making these resources widely available, we are seeking feedback to ensure that these resources are relevant, easy to read, and useful to their respective audiences. Related to the topics of the community-facing resources, we are also asking food bank workers to review these resources to determine if they are suitable for people managing food allergy utilizing Manitoba Food Banks. We are looking for the following to evaluate our resources:
Parents/caregivers with a child with a food allergy.
Health Care Providers working in the field of food allergy.
Employees of Manitoba food banks.
This is part of a larger study that aims to find ways to reduce the cost barriers to allergen-friendly foods and epinephrine auto-injectors (EAIs) to support better food allergy management in Canada.
How Does it Work
Participation in this study involves completing the consent disclosure process, reviewing the respective resources for your population and completing the questionnaire. We expect that evaluating resources for parents/caregivers and food bank workers will take 20-30 minutes. We expect evaluating resources for health care providers will take 30-40 minutes. All answers will be anonymous and will not be traced back to you. Once you successfully complete the resource evaluations, you may be eligible for a $20 e-gift card. You will have to provide a personal email to receive this, however, the answers you provide in the evaluation cannot be traced back to the email you provide. Additionally, parents/caregivers will have the opportunity to say if they would be interested in participating in a 30-60-minute virtual focus group to further discuss the resources and determine other resource topics for the future.

Additionally, other attendees may possibly ask questions or make comments that could cause discomfort. If you are interested in participating in the focus group, please know you must complete a consent form that provides more information. Also, a member of the lab would be happy to discuss any concerns you may have.
What are e-gift cards?
The e-gifts we use are called Everything Cards. These cards will be sent to the email you provide on the successful completion of the resource evaluations.
